Foundation is one of the most important component of building design. All the load of the building is taken by the foundation or footing as we say. They are broadly divided into 2 types , namely shallow and deep foundations. The Shallow foundations are those whose Depth<=Width or Depth<=3m , all other are hence called deep foundations.
